Brainwave Medical Group (Pty) Ltd launches its Dialysis Clinic at Eden Gardens Private Hospital, Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa

Pietermaritzburg, South Africa 14 June 2020. Brainwave Medical Group (Pty) Ltd (BW Medical Group) is proud to announce its launch of BW Dialysis Clinics at Eden Gardens private hospital, Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Kidney Disease burden is increasing in Africa as the pattern of diseases moves from communicable diseases to diseases of lifestyle. The need for kidney disease management services has been exponentially increased globally by the Covid19 pandemic with 28% of patients admitted for Covid19 into ICU presenting Acute Kidney injury in the UK, US and China. As the demand for ICU beds increases in South Africa a similar pattern is expected.

Siphokazi Feke, the Founder and Managing Director of BW Medical Group (Pty) Ltd said “We are excited about our expansion plans into The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the entry into the South African market specifically, after 9yrs as a service provider in West Africa. It is a homecoming for us, at a critical time to contribute towards increasing capacity of well needed healthcare services.”

Ms. Feke added, “the relationship with RH Bophelo through Eden Gardens Private Hospital, (a state of the art 130 bed acute hospital in Edendale Pietermaritzburg), is one of a shared vision of driving Africa wide access to quality care for all, nothing bears more testimony than RH Bophelo’s recent listing at Rwanda Stock Exchange.

We plan to set up BW Dialysis Clinics across South Africa and look forward to playing a key role in South African healthcare system. Moreover, building on our success in West Africa, our ambition is to offer our healthcare services in other SADC and East African Countries. Thus, we invite those interested in partnering with us to get in touch via the contact details provided below.
